What is it about?

In our paper, we describe some of the low birth weight risk factors among slum dwellers and how providing nutrition counselling on proper diet, sanitation and hygiene, morbidity during pregnancy, importance of attending antenatal care among others can impact in reducing low birth weight infants.

Why is it important?

Infant mortality is still high among low and middle income countries and low birth weight is one of the main causes. Therefore, our finding show that interventions such as providing nutrition education and counselling can reduce low birth weight through reducing the risks associated with low birth weight.

Perspectives

It was quite challenging but again interesting to come up with this publication since it was my first publication. I enjoyed the experience and look forward to publishing many more papers. I hope my readers can enjoy this publication and feel free to contact me for any clarifications or questions.
