Impact of training CBT supervisors

What is it about?

This qualitative pilot study explores the perceived impact of specific supervision training on CBT supervisors' knowledge and practice.

Why is it important?

There is a lack of research demonstrating the benefits of supervision in CBT, in comparison to the research showing CBT is of benefit to patients, despite most practitioners intuitively thinking it is of benefit. This pilot study explores the impact of training on CBT supervisors' practice and the variables which improved. Further attention needs to be paid to outcomes in supervision to help demonstrate an impact on patients.
