Bovine respiratory disease in beef cattle

What is it about?

The prevelance of BRD in the feedlot has actually increased in recent years. Factors that affect the number of cattle with BRD is examined and prevention stratagies are outlined.

Why is it important?

We as a profession can do a better job of preventing BRD in the feedlot. Cow-calf owners and veterinarians need to be able to explain the animal welfare and economic advantages of employing preventative stratagies to prevent BRD.
