Why is it important?
This paper gives a very good idea on geographical distribution of the clouded leopard in Nepal and issues that threaten the species. It will prove important to researchers who are planning a study on clouded leopard by showing the gaps.
Perspectives
We started collecting clouded leopard information in Nepal since 2009. Over the last 6 years we were able to collect only around 30 records of this species which shows the rarity of this species in the country. Some records might have been missed as it was really difficult to track down many records. Now, at least, all the records have been compiled and people working on the species can refer before planning their study. Its feels good!
