What is it about?

We demonstrated that the spionid annelids Polydora uncinata and P. hoplura were the same species using morphological characteristics and molecular sequences. These two species are well known as harmful invaders for some commercially important mollusks.

It is very important to prevent misidentification and confusion of the species especially in harmful invaders not only from the viewpoint of aquaculture but also from species diversity issue.
