What is it about?
In this paper, I discuss Charles Taylor's different uses of the term "ontology" in the course of his writing. I show that he employs this concept both to show how human beings experience their world and to raise questions about how to understand the world beyond these human experiences. I also criticise Stephen White's characterisation of Taylor's ontological thought as "weak ontology".
