Why is it important?
The review addresses one of the first book-length treatments in German of graffiti practices in the domestic spaces of ancient Pompeii.

Anyone interested in how people who lived in elite households of a thriving port town during the 1st centuries BCE and CE communicated with each other will find Polly Lohmann's book of enormous interest. I certainly did.
