A correction to the common text of Ovid's Letter of Laodamia to Protesilaos.

What is it about?

The letter contains a couplet which (since the Palmer's edition in 1896) is commonly deleted from the text of this poem on the grounds of the poem's internal logic. My note is aimed at correcting one problematic word in the couplet so that the logic is restored without deleting the couplet.

Why is it important?

It is a fresh approach to fix a long-known textual problem in the letter.
