PAIN WITHIN TWENTY-FOUR HOURS POST-ENDOSCOPIC ULTRASONOGRAPHY

What is it about?

The duration of endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) procedure was quite long so the patients would be felt pain and uncomfortable. The aim of the study is to evaluate the pain score within twenty-four hours after EUS procedure.

Why is it important?

The mean pain score (VNS) at 2, 6, 12, 18 and at 24 hours post-procedure was 1.7±1.6, 1.4±1.4, 0.7±1.0, 0.4±0.7, and 0.1±0.4, respectively. Pain relief medications after the procedure were pethidine, tramadol and paracetamol. Most sedation related adverse events was hypotension.
