Why is it important?
In some applications of CNTs, catalyst especially the metals in carbon is NOT good. Simple method or process to have pure CNTs is thus important.
Perspectives
Baking the as-prepared CNTs to get "pure" nano-carbon is simple and useful. Actually. this method is already used in industry especially in Li-battery plants.
