What is it about?

This paper describe for the first time a differential expressión study of genes in the brain, taken as model the postnatal development of the cerebellum. One of the differentially expressed genes was further characterized and corresponded to Cpd1 (Cerebellum postnatal development 1), a gene renamed according to HUGO to Anp32e. Why is it important?

This work showed for the first time the differential expression profile of gene during the postnatal development of the cerebellum, being Cpd1 on the of gene with higher expression during that period. The specific molecular function of Cpd1 is still a matter of debate but it is clear that it has a function in cell proliferation and tumor promotion.

Perspectives

Further studies are needed to determine the exact molecular function of Cpd1.
