What is it about?
The receptors identified in the new release of the imported fire ant genome are classified by ligand or putative function. Many receptors that were misidentified were renammed and yet others that appeared as hypothetical protein were identified as GPCRs.

Why is it important?
Endocrine communication among tissues is paramount to insect physiology and normal insect function.
Perspectives
This article was a tour-de-force because as we were annotating the previous genome release the new release happened in August-September 2018 and every annotation had to be revisited and re-done.
