What is it about?
Nanocrystalline to amorphous transition with a mixture of both phases in the intermediate composition with increasing Zr content have established a relationship with the properties, such as mechanical properties, tribological behaviour, electrical resistivity and corrosion behaviour.

Why is it important?
This paper reports how the sputtering parameter, such as target power has a crucial role in altering the microstructure of the film. Further, this work demonstrates how different microstructures, such as nanocrystalline intermetallic phases, the amorphous structure or the combination of both effects the properties of the film.
Perspectives
This article built up my immense knowledge about the thin film processing technique and their characterization techniques as well as how to improve their properties. I hope this work definitely develop interest among the researchers in thin film community to study the microstructure evolution and their relationship with various properties.
