What is it about?
Aluminum cannot be electrodeposited from aqueous solutions. It can be deposited from ionic liquids but these are very expensive and demand special conditions. However, Al can be electrodeposited from inexpensive DMSO2 under atmospheric conditions.

Why is it important?
This is a simple and inexpensive method of Al electroplaying.
Perspectives
