The paper deals with numerical and experimental analysis of a photovoltaic/thermal (PV/T) module that is based on the original idea to put the water in front of the PV module as it act a low-pass filter for the solar light

Why is it important?

The proposed solution, named TESPI, can convert easily a traditional PV array into a PV/T array. The flexibility of the proposed solution allow to adapt the sizing of the PV/T array to the thermal and electrical demand.

Perspectives

This article was very stimulating for me due to the variety of treated topics (from optic to photovoltaic effect), it has a co-author with whom I have had long and very effective collaboration in the field of photovoltaic systems. The topic describe in this paper has been further developed in a book dedicated to floating and submerged PV modules.
