What is it about?

The built area in 3d printing is quite small and not suitable for large-scale printing. The proposed method aims to resolve the build area limitation by combining scanning and projection methods. In this manner, we will have a multi-scale machine that enables us to build high-resolution large parts.

Why is it important?

In previous approaches, there is a trade-off between part size and the minimum feature size. this research provides a new approach to build large part without sacrificing the minimum feature size.

Perspectives

Multi-scale additive manufacturing is highly on-demand and this research was just a start point to address this need.
