What is it about?

This is a validity study of the Brazilian Portuguese version of the Beck Depression Inventory - II (BDI-II) in a sample of community dwelling adults. We provided the cut-off score of 10/11 as the threshold for detecting depression.

The validity study of the BDI-II in respondents living in community can make possible epidemiological studies in different samples in Brazil.

Perspectives

The BDI-II is reliable and valid for measuring depressive symptomatology among Portuguese-speaking Brazilian non-clinical adult populations.
