Why is it important?

This study contributes to the knowledge base underpinning chest x-ray interpretation by qualified reporting radiographers. Radiographer reporting plays an important role in meeting rising radiology activity and patient focused care.

Perspectives

It is vital that any radiographers who extends their scope of practice performs at a level comparable to a consultant radiologist. This study reports that an accredited reporting radiographer interprets adult chest x-rays with high precision and agreement comparable to consultant radiologists in clinical practice.
