What is it about?

Explains the plasticity of neuromodulatory receptors (G-protein coupled receptors) and the effect this has on the whole neuron (intrinisic excitability) and on synaptic plasticity.

Why is it important?

This is important since it was an early contribution to the literature on non-LTP plasticity. It opens the view on a new theoretical conception on neural plasticity beyond glutamatergic weakening/strengthening of the synapse.

Perspectives

It mas my personal first review paper which set the course for a number of modelling papers and posters since, all determined to show the impact of LTP and non-LTP plasticity.
