Why is it important?

Nurses are in an excellent position to advance research into pain, given their familiarity with its evaluation and treatment, and they warrant a key role in the development of strategies for its control. This culturally adapted 13-indicators outcome PC, structured in two components, is useful for the assessment and monitoring of pain control in patients with chronic pain. It offers nurses a more accurate evaluation of patients’ experience of pain control, enhancing their clinical decision-making.

Perspectives

The Classification of Nursing Outcomes (NOC) must be validated before being used in other countries than the United States. That is a challenge today. This study with its validation process is a contribution to the outcome of one of the outcomes NOC (pain control).
