What is it about?

A two level system coupled to a fiel mode is under the action of a small but noisy environement (two level system in a termal state). It is studied the dynamics of the linear entropy relative to the system of interest (two level system), as well as the influence of photon number fluctuations of the field.

Why is it important?

It is shown that despite of the smallness of the "environment", the evolution of the linear entropy shows a irreversible-like character. Moreover, the linear entropy is very sensitive to the effective temperature of the "environment". Yet, even small fluctuations in photon number contribute considerably to the linear entropy disordered behaviour.
