What is it about?

Anatase host (TiO2) can take up to 1 Li+/host in theory and 0.5 in actual case due to instability when anatase phase transformed to lithium right Li-TiO2 phase. Meanwhile the high voltage plateau at 1.7 V is not ideal as anode even it does not need to worry about SEI issue. How to improve the lithium uptake is accomplished in certain way in this project

Why is it important?

Improve energy density for TiO2 host with lower voltage plateau without host failure during high rate long cycle performance.

Perspectives

Interesting insight as sub 10 nm size crystals provided some promise features for extra lithium uptake.
