Why is it important?

Clinical leadership has been highlighted as important for patient care, staff wellbeing and organisational performance. However, clinicians moving to formal leadership and managerial roles may struggle to maintain a positive role and social identity.

Perspectives

This paper is important because it is the first to add the voices of midwives to debates about how clinical leaders might maintain positive identity.
