What is it about?
Here we made a membrane that can self-heal damage (e.g. a crack) without human intervention and without using any materials that would otherwise not be present in the membrane.

This is important because it might provide a new way for membranes to function for longer periods of time. It is the first example of a self-healing ceramic membrane.
