What is it about?
The Eustachian Tube has always been believed to have a pressure regulation function: opening the tube equilibrates middle ear pressure. But the structure of the muscular apparatus, and their innervation is not logical from this point of view. We propose that the Eustachian Tube actually has an acoustic function, in modulating the awareness for pharyngeal and other body sounds.
