What is it about?
To examine the changes in total kidney volume (TKV) and total liver volume (TLV) before and after dialysis initiation in patients with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease.

Why is it important?
There have been few reports regarding total kidney volume TKV) after dialysis initiation. There are fewer reports regarding the total liver volume (TLV) after dialysis initiation. Theer have never been reports regarding TKV and TLV in patients on peritoneal dialysis.
Perspectives
The increases in TKV and TLV were greater in patients on PD than in patients on HD. By comparing HD and PD, we can clarify the mechanism of growth of PKD and PLD.
