What is it about?
Authors considered a pair of involute spur gears with 25 deg. of pressure angle, and analysed the bending and contact stresses for two pairs of gear materials, one is metallic pair (ASTM Class 35 Cast Iron and ASTM 1045 or C45 steel) and non-metallic pair (NYLON 6/6 and Polyphenylene Sulphide); and concluded that any of the gear pairs may be used based on the operating environment
