What is it about?

An orange phosphor Sr3SiO5:Eu2+ was synthesized by high temperature solid state reaction.

Why is it important?

A new viewpoint was proposed to explain the mechanism of decomposition in the synthesis process of Sr3SiO5:Eu2+.

Perspectives

Microstructure analysis suggested that slight stoichiometric excess of SrO in the raw materials was able to suppress the decomposition of Sr3SiO5:Eu2+, thus leading to enhanced emission intensity.
