What is it about?
This study focused on the quantification of mercury in the blood of gull chicks from natural and urban breeding colonies. We investigated whether trophic ecology, age, or nest-related effects had explained mercury concentrations in these distinct environments. As mercury is reputable for its toxicity to biota, we have carried out a risk evaluation for each population of gull chicks.
