This is a book review of the book, Autoethnography: Understanding Qualitative Research, and it begins to advocate for the use of autoethnographic methods in the field of second language writing.

Why is it important?

Given the diverse nature of second language writing professionals, many being so-called second language writers themselves, there should most certainly be a place for autoethnographic research methods--which will allow us to better examine highly proficient users of English for academic/professional writing purposes.
