What is it about?

It can roughly be expected that ca. 10% of medicines enter the worldwide market as counterfeits. In highly developed countries, counterfeit medicines account for ca. 1% of the total controlled market. In this article, we present different instrumental techniques and chemometric methods that assist in the detection of counterfeit medicines.

Perspectives

Rapid and reliable instrumental techniques combined with efficient chemometric data analysis are very helpful in the high-throughput detection of counterfeit drugs.
