What is it about?

The present study examined the residents' attitudes to tourism in relation to the altitude of their habitat in the Bhurungdi Valley, Nepal. Being a part of the Annapurna Conservation Area, this Valley is a popular destination among tourists engaging in high-altitude hiking, trekking, and mountain climbing.

Why is it important?

Many scholars studied the relationships between host communities and tourists visiting them, but so far no previous research linked the attitudes of residents to the altitude of their home.

This research shows the higher the communities live the more understanding they show for tourists visiting them during their travel time.
