What is it about?
Smoking may reduce the risk of Parkinson's disease. Many chemicals can be found in tobacco products. We measured the lithium content in tobacco found in different brands of cigarettes. The lithium content varied between brands. The brand with the least lithium claimed to be "organic".

Why is it important?
This information may support the fact that smoking may reduce the risk of Parkinson's disease due to the presence of Lithium.
Perspectives
There are many health hazards associated with tobacco use. There are no health benefits associated with this habit-forming activity. Smoking should not be used as a method of reducing the risk of Parkinson's disease. Our research was only an investigation into the potential for lithium treatment in Parkinson's patients.
