What is it about?

A full 20% of all cases dubbed clinically isolate syndrome, CIS (or the first sign/symptom of multiple sclerosis) get NO diagnosis since the brain MRI criteria are not met. My article showcases the flaw in this model of diagnosis and asks doctors/researchers to revise the diagnostic criteria for CIS by adding data from spinal fluid analysis.

Why is it important?

If around 20% of cases are being left undiagnosed, treatment options for his group of patients will not ever be provided till it can become too late for treatment. Treatment options for multiple sclerosis are best if started early, as research repeatedly has shown.

Perspectives

My perspective is simple - catch the disease early. As well, African Americans lose heavily. if their disease spectrum is not nipped in the bud.
