What is it about?
Ion exchange glass chemical strengthening is an emerging industrial process that presents yet unresolved anomalies connected to a full understanding of the basic science. This study is a contribution to the discussion and resolution of a significant anomaly connected to stress relaxation mchanisms.

Why is it important?
The relevance is in the identification of the structural relaxation mechanisms to the glass network evolution, a mechanical model is identified and proposed and a detailed viscoelastic mathematical model is presented being able to predict experimental data.
Perspectives
It was my pleasure to collaborate in this study with top level co-authors, what has been found in this research enables clearer perspectives on the evolution of glass network in Ion Exchange process for glass strengthening.
