What is it about?

Iron aluminides correspond to a new class of alloys composed mainly of iron and aluminum. This materal presents optimal properties in some areas (like oxidation resistance) and it is interesting to show it can be produced at very low costs.

Why is it important?

Searching materials with improved properties is one of the goal fo materials science and engineering. Equally mportant, however, if to show these alloys can be produced with the lowest allowable costs, to improve the lkelihood that these materials will be used someday. This is the aim of this work.
