What is it about?

Magnetostrictive materials are smart materials for applications in sensors and actuators. Cobalt ferrite is a suitable material for such applications. In this publication, it is shown that high magnetostrcition coefficient can be obtained when nanosized cobalt ferrite powder is sintered at relatively low temperatures by a two-stage method of sintering, thereby reducing the cost of production, along with the advantages that the material is ceramic and cheaper, for various applications.
