Why is it important?

Optimization of flat plate buildings designed considering carbon footprint of materials used. Concrete buildings use concrete as a material for most of it and which, in turn uses cement responsible for carbon emissions. A unique branch-and-reduce numerical optimization technique is applied to reduce carbon footprint for the optimum design of flat plate buildings by comparing different design options to decide on the final design for a particular building.
