What is it about?
This paper is about how academics worked in partnership with state government and industry, to create open source resources on a hot-topic of energy efficiency. The paper provides a reflection on lessons learned and opportunities for improving the amount of new knowledge within engineering education in particular, through collaborative curriculum development.

Why is it important?
This paper is important because it is imperative that our engineers are equipped with energy efficiency knowledge and skills as quickly as possible. Currently higher education coursework does not include much on this topic area, so we need to develop curriculum, and quickly.
Perspectives
This publication took more than a year to write, seeking input from State and Federal government colleagues, and seeking permission to report on the lessons learned. As a result the findings and insights are rich and relevant - in particular to avoid repeating mistakes elsewhere!
