What is it about?

A facile detection of Vi gene of Salmonella typhi using DNA probe, methylene blue is used as an electrochemical indicator which helps in determination of electrochemical signal by producing reduction signal on DNA immobilisation and its hybridisation.

Why is it important?

The DNA biosensors shows excellent performance with high sensitivity and good selectivity. The current response was linear with the target sequence concentrations ranging from 1.0* 10-11 to 0.5 * 10-8M and the detection limit was found to be 50pM
