What is it about?

While bone marrow is composed primarily of mechanically sensitive cells, with minimal connective matrix, little is known about what types of mechanical stress these cells may be subjected to. This paper considers a very simple loading condition, and demonstrates that the cells are subjected to very high mechanical signals in this situation.
