What is it about?
In this paper, we analyzed obsidian artifacts from the archaeological site of La Ferreria, located in the Mexican state of Durango. The artifacts were measured by means of non-destructive portable x ray fluorescence and classified with non-conventional statistical techniques. The findings allowed to make new interpretations about the exploitation and consumption of local raw material by the inhabitants of La Ferreria site, as well as to identify connections with more distant areas with which had not previously been related, like Sonora region.
