What is it about?
Coeliac trunk supplies upper abdominal organs like liver, spleen, stomach, duodenum and pancreas. Some of the branches of coeliac trunk may arise directly from abdominal aorta or superior mesenteric artery due to developmental anomalies. Rarely a common celiacomesenteric trunk may be present supplying all derivatives of embryonic foregut and midgut. Several such variations are described in this article.
