Why is it important?
This is important because children with HIV are surviving into adulthood. Despite being generally healthy, children with HIV are at risk for multiple conditions that can negatively effect their school performance and subsequent productivity as adults. How these children are supported in overcoming these risk factors can have a profound influence on their long term productivity and quality of life.
