What is it about?

This paper proposes an approach for evaluating the satisfaction of passengers with the operational services of airports, by the integration of two multiple criteria methods. The modelling was applied to a dataset from Brazilian airports and the results have shown that the proposal is suitable.

Why is it important?

Evaluating passengers' satisfaction is a relevant issue, but most of the modeling facing this problem consider the use of compensatory methods. By using De Borda Method, this proposal avoids undesirable compensatory effects. Moreover, it rescues the proposal of Costa (1994) to use AHP in the weighting step and, in a following step, performing a non-compensatory method.

Perspectives

I think this publication is worthy for researchers focusing on decision modelling, since it shows how to integrate AHP and De Borda methods. It is also valuable for the researches interested in building models for satisfaction evaluation, even for situations different from the one shown in the paper.
