What is it about?
The use of anti-dumping duties has been increasing as an instrument to protect domestic firms from foreign competition. We analyzed under what circumstances the use of anti-dumping duties is preferred over tariffs. We also show the effects of each policy instrument on prices, output and welfare. We identify cases when the government and domestic firms have conflicting preferences.
