What is it about?

This study wanted to undergo a literature review on how bone reacts to dental manipulation regarding implantology. Updated knowledge on bone physiology was correlated to bone microstructure

Why is it important?

To give some brief statements found through this review: immediate loading is not responsible of bone resorption under centric occlusal forces, blood clot should be preserved in the implant bed before implant insertion, delayed and progressive loading is indicated when biomaterials are used for bone regeneration

Perspectives

Here is some scientific background about bony tissue, which is the basis point of implant dentistry and which should be accurately studied in order to get optimal implant success rate. I think we should know more about bone rather than titanium!
