What is it about?
A randomized controlled trial was conducted to evaluate the impact of an infant intervention program on social interactions between mothers and moderately to late preterm infants, specifically those with a gestational age between 30 and 36 weeks.

Why is it important?
Mothers in the intervention group demonstrated higher levels of sensitivity and responsiveness, as compared with controls. Notably, being a first-time mother significantly enhanced the effects of the intervention.
Perspectives
It is noticeable that first-time mothers exhibited greater sensitivity and responsiveness to their infant’s cues, and that these mother-infant dyads displayed a higher level of synchrony compared to experienced mothers.
