Manufacturing plants belonging to a MNC can have diverse roles within the internal network of the company. The paper explores the diversity of these roles in terms of implication in knowledge transfer activities, and identifies the capabilities needed to transition to higher roles, i.e., from knowledge receiver to knowledge sender.
