What is it about?
This article studies the sorption of 4 representative organic substances to soils of contrasting mineralogy across the world.

Why is it important?
To me, this article is remarkable since it shows that fatty acids are sorbed in much higher amounts than aromatic, saccharide and aromatic compounds, in all soils.
Perspectives
I understand that this shed some light on why most soil organic carbon is always humin - an insoluble (non-polar?) substance difficult to study.
